We are creating a Neuroethics program at Georgia State University in Atlanta, building on our strengths in neurophilosophy/moral psychology and ethics/phil law, and our interdisciplinary connections with Neuroscience, Psychology, and Law. We will begin with three hires, one or two of which will be in philosophy (and one in neuroscience or psychology--someone who works on moral cognition).
The philosophy positions are construed broadly--i.e., they don't need to be squarely in neuroethics. One is in ethical/legal theory with research interests in the ethical and legal implications of neuroscience. And one is in philosophy of mind/cognitive science or moral psychology, with research interests on the implications of neuroscience for issues in moral psychology. All positions are open rank but the goal is to hire with tenure, if possible.
