Hi all,
I wanted to plug a new podcast series called "Very Bad Wizards" I'm doing with David Pizarro (psychologist at Cornell) on issues in moral psychology. The first two podcasts are on free will and moral responsibility. Pizarro, for those who don't know him, is an entertaining guy and he's done some cool studies on this topic.
You can access both on the series website (verybadwizards.com) and also subscribe on itunes. The next two podcasts aren't out yet but will be on moral and cultural relativism and revenge. Dave composed the intro music himself and my daughter gives a brilliant and subtle performance in the disclaimer that leads off each episode. Hope you enjoy them!

I'm a big fan of Tamler's book of interviews by the same (or similar?) name, Very Bad Wizard. They are really nicely done, and if the podcasts are of a similar quality, they will be great.

John is right, A Very Bad Wizard is a marvelous book; am using it in a seminar this fall, and the students love it. The people interviewed are all very interesting, and the interviews are fun but also thoughtful and probing -- for example, Frans de Waal makes a comment about the limited capacity of chimps to be "impartial spectators," and Tamler brings up a passage in one of de Waal's early books that suggests the opposite, which leads to a much deeper analysis. (And for folks who follow Flickers, the interview with Galen Strawson should not be missed.)

Thanks John and Bruce! That means a lot to me coming from you two. The podcasts are a lot more informal--it's possible that experts in the field won't get much out of them because we're assuming much less of a familiarity with the topic on the part of our audience. (But hopefully, there will be something for everyone!).
